I ordered 100 for my first time and now they are gone!
All 3 of my leos liked them.

I may try to breed them, but they look like a pain to care for!?

Maybe I'll try the zebras!

Zebras are not much different than regular silks. They are a bit more hardy but not much. Silks can be very delicate. Clean is the most important aspect. They just need to be feed every day, thats the most work thats involved with them.

I have done all stages of producing. It's easiest to buy the eggs in bulk and hatch them out feed them off and buy more eggs. Here is why. Say you go all the way to moth stage and get eggs. The problem is if the eggs do not hatch out within a week or two the rest of the eggs will not hatch out for 3 months. Unless the are treated to hatch early, which can be be a very delicate process as well.
