I seem to be able to get Sappho's wayward toe skin off with a fingernail. I bite my nails so they're short, and I don't death scratch her, just loosen a little bit. That way, as someone above said, I can grab loose skin and when she pulls her foot away it'll come right off. It's never really stuck, seems to come off like a glove, but I also soak it before I try. I can't really use Q-tips, she just bites 'em and gets a mouthful of cotton.
