i got a couple albino babies from my raptor female and one has snake eyes, does that mean it's a raptor?

somehow i think it does.

here's a couple pics of the two from this clutch.

If you consider that a RAPTOR is just a gecko showing both the eclipse and albino traits, then yes, your little hatchling would be a RAPTOR. The eclipse gene can cover the eyes totally or partially, but it's the same thing.

However, some people don't consider banded albinos as RAPTORs because they aren't 'patternless'.

You could say it is a snake eyed banded RAPTOR or a snake eyed albino.

Thats just how dominant the banded pattern is...a few years of line/selective breeding can't stabilize the trait(s) to the point of dominance over the natural pattern (the banded pattern has been "reassured" by thousands of years of breeding in their natural habitat)

I`de guess your Aptor or Raptor(maybe both) was from an outcrossed R/Aptor project, as they do not normally carry banded genes.

unless the raptor didn't lay these eggs then?
i have several normal females and a hypo female as well as the raptor female that share this laying box.

maybe one of the others is hiding some genes.

i just assumed that, since they are albinos they had to come from the raptor. and i didn't worry about the rest, being as they should all look normal. i think i need to separate everyone and see who's doing what. just to be sure.

I’d just call him/her a banded R.A.P.T.O.R. I actually think a regular tremper albino with red eyes, is a neat thing. CONGRATS on the hatchling Rob!!!!!

Isn't the banded pattern contained within all leos in existance? Maybe suppressed by slightly more dominant traits in some lines, but it is their natural 'default' pattern, is it not? I've hatched out a banded from Raptor/Raptor??? (no outcross)

maybe one of the others is hiding some genes.
They are ALL "hiding" genes/traits--yet to be discovered/developed--very few traits are due to 'random' mutations...

Well I don`t ever see other`s Stripe X Stripe, Reverse Stripe X Reverse Stripe etc, producing any Bandeds, and it has never happened here. Same goes for my "Aptor" project, which yielded Raptors, and my Raptor/Red Stripe/Patternless Stripe crosses, etc. They produce nothing but patterned Leos, unless bred to another line which carries normal genes. I was just going along with RT`s original explanation, after finding this out for myself. Just goes to show you can never be too sure with these things. They can throw some surprises, for sure!

Where did you buy your R/Aptors from, I wonder though. I`m sure plenty of people have outcrossed their R/Aptors(Raptor X Super Hypo CT, etc), bred the hets together and produced "Raptors". Could be something, some breeders might not feel was important to disclose. I have no idea why they would not myself, but you never know. I really do not see many people(other than myself) stressing the fact that they have outcrossed this line, but I know it has been done. :)

I have to say like Nick, I love the look of a banded solid eyed "RAPTOR", no matter what you call them. Congrats either way!!!
