OOPS WRONG CATEGORY!

I am new to the whole Leopard gecko morphs as you all know and I don't even know if this is possible but maybe with ya'lls help I can get it to come true

I am hoping to create a solid orange headed. carrot tail. lavender/blue body with minimal yellow.

Right now I have Zynx who has quite a lot of lavender especially for being the age that she/he is.

Blue and orange are complimentry colors- orange is a warm color and blue is a cool color so next to each other they pop!!

That's why I hope to be able to do this

But here is where I get stuck
Do I get a solid tangerine or a albino with carrot head and carrot tail or eeek this is so confusing I don't even know where to start

Help?

Blue is still very new to the Leopard Gecko world, but Orange and Lavender is very possible.

I was actually reading about leopard geckos with blue spots the other day. Leopardgecko.com (Ron Tremper's site I believe) was working for 3 years with a gecko with a blue spot on it's tail, and it proved impossible to reproduce. Finally, José V. Torres, Ph.D., Professor, Medical Microbiology and Immunology, School of Medicine, University of California - Davis, solved the mystery with this theory, in his own words:

"........On page 169 you have pictures of a female albino with blue on her tail and suggest that it could be the foundation for a new morph. However, it looks to me that this animal has a blue hemangioma. This condition is fairly common in humans and sometimes appears as a poorly-defined, slightly raised, blue subcutaneous nodule with normal overlying skin. The blue color is due to the accumulation of de-oxygenated blood. Most of the time it is a benign vascular malformation. Grossly, cavernous hemangiomas are blue, soft and spongy. I suspect this is the case since the three sections of the tail involved are larger than the normal surrounding ones."

Leopardgecko.com went on to say "To put it simply, the blue spot is a leopard gecko birth mark of sorts. So the quest for a blue leopard still eludes us."

But...the fact that people have been able to produce purple and green coloration makes me think that someday, somewhere, someone will be able to produce some hue of blue. You are correct in saying it would be one AMAZING looking gecko!

But any suggestions on where I should start

I also said blue because I was reading the definition someone had of their bold lavenders (called someting else) and they called it light blue

its probably going to be difficult i would think to get a lavender tang baldy starting with a nice tang and a lavender i think it would be difficult to keep the lavender spotting but eliminate the black spotting prolly would have to be line bred and you would need to take your best offspring and mate them (as far as imbreeding i think its okay to breed a baby to parent but brother to sister can cause problems i beleive) anyway i really new at genetics myself so this is all speculation but hope it helps a little.

To get the WHOLE carrot tail, you'll need to just line breed...breed two geckos with say 95% carrot tail together, then breed the offspring back. There are geckos called Murphy Patternless that are yellowish white with white tails that some breeders have been able to get some minimal carrot tail into - Marcia at Golden Gate Geckos has some beautiful Pattys with some carrot tail. As far as getting the blue-ish purple patternless body color...I have NO idea where to start!

thats a nice gecko i think you should get her :D im still really new at breeding but from what ive read i think if i try to breed something crazy i will breed an enigma to tang and RRS. read this post it really sparked my interest on enigmas http://www.okeechobeereptiles.com/ read the post on the main page titled "morph enhancer"

OK So here is my guess process
I start with a the 95% carrot tails breed them together

Take the one with the brightest carrot tail and save that baby
Then I breed two murphy's patternless that have a carrot heads I then take the brightest of the two and breed back to one of the parents I then take that baby and breed it to the carrot tail I had saved
Then I continue to work back and foward with offspring till I have a carrot head/carrot tail and patternless body
I ten take that perfect one I have been waiting for and breed it to a bold lavender albino then take the baby with the less yellow and breed it back to the perfect one and then take the baby and breed it back to the bold lavender then back to the the baby of that one back to the perfect one and so and so forth till a lavender body carrot head- carrot tail is created

WOW!! ok *slams head* anyone want this project? I don't have the money for this which is sad, yes very sad :( if it succeeded my mom wanted me to call it desert sunset leos

Oh well I think I'll just go to the show and find a leo I like and breed it to Zynx and just sell it online to you guys. Or maybe find another bell albino that has a lot of purple and breed those together
