Some advice please

I've had gecko for about a year now and she has shed with no problems. This time it is stuck around her eyes and nose. I tried to help with this but she has never calmed down enough to easily handle her so I couldn't get it all. The problem now is I woke up this morning and over her left eye is a knot. It looks like she has been rubbing it against her water dish. The shed is in her eye and I can't calm her down enough to do that kind of delicate work.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hold her gently in your hand --like a little hand cave. Let her get comfortable. Rub the shed gently with a wet q-tip. You can restrain her gently. If she starts to struggle, let her go and move to your other hand. Try to restrain her for just a little bit and rub for a little bit and then if she keeps struggling, let her go and pick her up again. Sometimes I hold them against my shirt so they can bury their head in my shirt. Do this with the shed stuck eye facing out. If you cradle her enough, she may eventually put up with it. You could also try putting her in a shallow dish and gently, using an eye dropper, dribbling some water over the stuck shed to loosen it a bit. Another idea would be to put her in a tupperware container with airholes and wet paper towel to make it like a humid hide and let her sit there awhile to loosen the shed.

Good luck,

Thank you, holding her like that seemed to help. I was able to hold her for a little bit longer this time. She already has a humid hide which she never really liked but, I will definitely try the eye dropper thing.

Thanks again.
