This could go in a lot of places. Mods, feel free to move it if you don't think it belongs here :)

So my friend and I picked up this baby from a mom and pop pet store in town. We've been watching it for a couple of months now. Kept on sand before, now paper towels. I'll monitor for signs of impaction but he looks to be in good shape.

My problem is that they said they've had him for 5 months. So he's at least 5 months old. He's only 8.6g and about 3 inches long. Is that normal?

Got him home and he ate 8 mealies right away, so yay! haha. Oh, and anyone wanna have a go at the morph? Normal or what?

If it is just your average normal(no hets) than he should be about 20-25g and maybe a lil longer not much. My first leo Jub-Jub(simpson's fans) is a normal and is about 4 yrs old. He isn't that large a lil under 7" and about 50g. They grow at a much slower pace and don't usually reach anything near as big as most of the other morphs. I thought it was crazy how fast my TX banded albino grew and weighed compared to Jubbers he had out grown him at 9 mos. and weighed about the same. Just keep feedin' him and he'll pack on the weight and size in due time. Looks healthy though good job!!!!

I have had some very slow growing leos so this is definitely possible. On the other hand, the normal that I rescued 5 years ago was about 6 months old when I got him and weighed 28 grams. Today he's close to 100 grams.
