Sup,

Well here is the problem, every time I look at my leo, its in the humid hide... Morn Noon and Night... He Still eats... I would place some mealies in the dish... GONE... Crickets... Gone.... But he just stays in that Stupid hide.... ALL DAY. AND NIGHT... I dunno whats wrong with him...

He just sits in there on his belly, arms laid to the side and eyes always closed.

So you guys tell me?.....

I've got aa female that I got a couple weeks ago that I bet never had a humid hide b4 I got her. After having her for a week she finally found the hunid hide and now only comes outof it to eat and let me spray it. sometimes she doesn't want to come out and eat but digs at the sides from inside hoping the meal will come to her lol Unless I make her get out for spraying or feeding she won't come out either. She eats fantastic just prefers it. Reason I am telling you all this is because mine never had a humid hide before maybe yours hasn't either before you got it? They are just enjoying a sauna I suppose lol but keep an eye on him and I will watch my girl :)

Sometimes it just depends on the gecko, though it may change for her. I have some geckos that are in the open all the time and one that spends all her time in her magnet hide. It's annoying, but there's nothing I can do about it. One thing I've noticed about my collection (4.10) is that some of them will develop a particular routine and follow that for a long time and then change their habits and follow a new routine. I don't think there's anything wrong with taking her out of her humid hide and handling her for a few minutes and then then putting her back in the cage. Unless you go to bed really early, you can also check on her at different times during the night which is when she should be active.

I''d say its pretty normal thay are nocturnal and spend the day sleeping I bet when your asleep and it cools off and gets dark she comes out, But they are pretty reclusive when its light and hot,

We have a couple of females that have always spent all their time in their humidity hides. One girl is 5 yeras old ( we have had her 3 years) and she has done that since we first got her. She weighs 98 grams and eats good so I don't really worry too much aboout it. I know she comes out at night because her food dish id always empty the next morning

i never used to see mine either til i ditched the light and got a UTH. they do fine with the normal photoperiod from the window. neither of them were albino, i just dont think they enjoyed the harsh light.

When I got my new leo she would stay in her humid box for about 5 days then she come out now she started to eat on the 2 day but she sleeps in her humid box and it has been a week now and she is coming out more now that she is use to her new cage and she is ina cage with my other girl pearl they get along great so it is not uncomon to see them in thier humid box at all it is very normal now if your leo was not eating then I be very worried but as long as your leo is eating and looking health then no need to worrie. :)
