Well I noticed the female was looking a little thin today so I decided to dig up the enclosure to see if she laid another clutch. She did.
At first all i found were these

But after a little more digging I uncoverd another egg. This one looked very old.

As soon as I snapped this pic I noticed the egg wiggle and I went off to grabed the video camera and film this

Seeing as I had missed at least one egg a while back, I dug up the rest of the enclosure and uncovered just one more egg. Unfortunitly it appeared to have hatched already............... I guess mom or dad got to him first.

That's crazy! Someone posted something a similar story last year I think... The things these guys can go through is pretty insane.. They're tough lil guys!
....................... Personaly i like to think the setup is just that damn good to allow natural nesting and incubation all on its own :D:main_thumbsup:
The beauty of all natural substrates!!

Why don't you have a laybox for your female? Sorry but I don't think it's
cool at all to leave eggs in a enclosure. If you didn't know she had eggs in her that's one thing but if you did then that's a shame.

That baby Leo died that was in that other egg and the one you had hatch was lucky. Sorry to sound like a jerk but I think this whole situation is wrong and not cool at all.

..........................LMAO. You need to re-read my post. If the idea that my leos setup allows natural nesting and incubation of their eggs upsets you, im sure you would love to know that the baby leo in that video got fed right to my Ackies not 10min out of the egg. :main_evilgrin:

SWEET congrats! on the hatch. I feel bad for the poor lil "monitor food". Either way i think its neat your tank supported natural hatching

And dont feel bad for the little guy. He went to the same place as countless brothers and sisters of his. Think of it a family reunion.

It's not the circle of life when you breed leos to only feed them to monitors. Whatever to each his own. I liked how you cursed at me in the YouTube section, that was very grown up of you huh??
