So here's a little prelude........I ordered new display cases from Reptile Emporium, who were supposed to come to the San Diego show this weekend. Last Wednesday, Nanette Gains (co-owner) called and said they were sorry they weren't coming, but would ship the cases to me at their cost. I said "great!!"

Guess what? No display cases. We'll be leaving tomorrow (Thursday) night because it's a ten hour drive on a good day........So I called Nanette today to see where the cases were (didn't have the tracking number), and she gave me the tracking number. Guess what? They were dropped off last Friday NIGHT at 6:28 pm (past the time that FedEx ground takes packages), so didn't leave Chicago IL until Monday NIGHT at 11 something pm. They are scheduled to be delivered on FRIDAY. Yeah, that will be so awesome. FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! :main_angry:

Nanette is being very kind - it's just frustrating as hell. And when I mentioned that we were leaving on Thursday, she said "oh, well I just assumed that since you live in California, it wasn't too far for you to drive." That's when I told her I live at the other end of the STATE. :main_thumbsdown:

My only *mere* hope is that they will be delivered to a hub or such relatively close to me tomorrow, and that it will be available for me to drive and pick up. So, as irritated as I am, I'm trying to stay positive that it will all work out in the end. *crosses fingers* Otherwise, I'll be doing the Steve Sykes thing - bird netting stapled to the tables. Which is NOT as pretty as my display cases, but..........what's a girl to do? GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Well, after a crazy morning..........

I'm going to pick up my displays.

When I checked on them this am, they were in Sacramento (about 45-1 hr away). I called FedEx, who told me that "gee, those trucks won't be unloaded until tomorrow." So, I asked to talk to a mananger. They patched me through to this very nice lady Pam who had a nice gal named Asia that would look into it and call me back.

Asia calls me back, and says essentially that sorry, she looked in the back of the trucks, but couldn't find my packages. To make things more complicated, the two packages were in two different trucks. :main_thumbsdown: She said they wouldn't be unloading those trucks until 11 pm tonight, but I could pick them up at 6 am tomorrow. :( I thanked her, and told her if there was ANY WAY my packages got unloaded today, to PLEASE CALL.

About an hour later, she called. They had BOTH PACKAGES, and I could come NOW to pick them up!!!!!!!!!

Way to go Asia! Having worked in a warehouse answering tons of calls about missing shipments, I'd bet she went out there and persuaded them to look extra hard for those boxes!
