Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I’m Gabe and this is Darius. We’re located in Santa Clarita, CA. I picked him up at the local Petco about 4 weeks ago. His enclosure is quite small currently as my plan is to build a bioactive 35 gallon during my holiday leave from work. Im 29 and have kept reptiles previously (somalian blood python and corn snake) but this is my first Leo. Again, please excuse the weak enclosure. One thing I’ve learned so far is he definitely doesn’t like Flukes superworms. I tried to move to that food as it was available via Amazon and I could set up a recurring order (this is a good reminder that I need to cancel that) but he would not eat food that wasn’t live. I know have him eating large Mealworms and he seems to be loving it. Enclosure stays about 83* during day and 75ish as night falls. I was hoping for a little help identifying the “morph” just out of curiosity. One last question is are there any plants you’d recommend/stay away from when I’m building a bioactive enclosure? Going for a desert environment.

Welcome and congrats on your new leo. I can't tell the morph without seeing a picture of the whole gecko from the top. Below are links to 2 articles discussing bioactive setups for leos. I do recommend that you go with succulents and put them in little pots as opposed to planting them directly into the soil so you can pick them up and water them as needed.

It's still a little hard to tell, but I would say hypo (few body spots) stripe (hatchling markings were black stripes that ran shoulder to vent as opposed to side to side and have now faded to just a few spots). Very healthy looking gecko!
