I had a surprise in the incubator today. The first clutch from my Mack Snow Eclipse x Sunglow het Raptor hatched today. One gecko was as expected while the other appears to show a trait I didn't expect. I couldn't get a picture of the eyes but they are both solid red so I guess my Mack Snow was also het for Tremper Albino. What do you guys think? Looks like I didn't have to wait two years for Snowglows after all :)

Congratulations! I for one like surprises but there's some others on here who would call your little surprise "bad record keeping" by the breeder. Don't worry about that, you did nothing wrong. Again, congrats on your little ones!

Quick question for everyone. I was reviewing the morph wiki and the calculator and it occurs to me that this doesn't have to be a Snowglow. It could just me a Tremper Raptor. Other than breeding the animal next year are there any traits I can look for that will confirm the Mack Snow genes? The father was not a Mack Snow the mother was.

You would see the mack more as a hatchling. What do the eyes look like? It does have that orange raptor look. Its so hard with morphing hatchlings huh? I cant tell but are the legs and belly white? My snowglows have the white bellies and legs

Nothing on that gecko screams Snowglow except the lack of tail coloring. Most snows have very little if any ct. However, the rest of the gecko looks like a Raptor to me. It could just be a higher colored Snowglow, but that's not my first though.

Thanks, I have the same feeling. Still a pretty cool surprise though.

Another side thought, I can't seem to find a genetic difference between a Snowglow and a Mack RAPTOR. Is the difference just in the final look?

Snowglows do not have the Eclipse gene like the Mack RAPTORS do. Plus the overall appearance is different.

Here is one of my snowglow juvi's

and here is a Mack RAPTOR juvi

Yea, I really meant besides the eclipse gene since I'm hoping for a Snowglow RAPTOR. So genetically they are the same but a different look in the end? I do see the difference in the two pictures but fail to notice the difference from a genetic standpoint.

Beautiful geckos BTW. I also can definitely say that mine is just a RAPTOR from the examples that you have provided.

oh ok sorry I didnt know you were going for a Snowglow RAPTOR (which is a cool project by the way). Yeah I think it is just the appearance. I think if it was a Snowglow RAPTOR it would be banded when born and lighter in color and then they hypo out when they get older.

Beautiful geckos BTW. I also can definitely say that mine is just a RAPTOR from the examples that you have provided

Thanks! even if it is not a snowglow it is a very nice RAPTOR!
