Everything sounds great, but I have to throw in my 2 cents about one little, tiny sentence...

"This prohibits direct contact with a wet substrate and allows an almost 100% gas exchange between the container environment and the egg membrane."

instead of saying "an almost" maybe you could say "approximately" instead...maybe the words would flow together a little better?
