Steppe runner?

I have an empty 20 gal tank. I've tried selling it, but no takers so I guess I'll have to put a reptile in it.
I was thinking maybe a steppe runner? Provided I can find some in Canada. Will that tank be big enough?

It should be. My steppe runner is very happy in a 20 gallon long. Be sure to give it something to dig in.
