I would like to hear from experienced breeders A couple of weeks ago my Aptor laid 2 still born eggs. They were fully developed babies.Since it was both that didnt make it I was wondering if any of the big breeders might chime in with any feedback,

Roger, I'm sorry your hatchlings didn't make it into the world. Over the years, I've had a few eggs that didn't hatch with full-term babies inside. I wish I had a reason to share, but I don't. :'(

Sometimes it just happens. I've had it happen a couple of times and a few years ago, I checked my incubator to find that 3 babies had hatched, 2 were dead out of the egg and 1 was fine. Since I've occasionally had geckos hatch that were clearly smaller and weaker than they should have been and frequently don't make it, I would assume that sometimes, even late in the incubation process, the baby just isn't viable.

I had a female last season that laid something like 9 clutches....18 eggs.....every single one of them went full term and either did not hatch or more often hatched and died within hours....they were all pretty big babies with lots of color/pattern showing. This season she was put with a different male so it should be interesting to see if I get different results.
