Still not eatting.

This has been an ongoing issue with Dante and Obi since they came home. Dante did fine the first two days, now hardly if ever eats. Obi just doesn't eat in general. At this point they've both lost weight... Obi doesn't have any to spare to begin with since he was so skinny (limbs and tail are twig thin), and Dante's thinning out as well. Lady at out local pet store told us about trying to get them to eat banana baby food. We got some tonight and gave it a try. Obi loved it, after much coaxing, and ate quite a bit... only to throw it up twice. And Dante ate a tiny bit as well. We also picked up Herpcare Electrolyte & Appetite Stimulant, only to have Dante drink a tiny bit.

This is getting so frustrating and heartbreaking at this point. We're going on week 3 or 4 now of this issue and still nothing. Is there anything else we can try before this problem become fatal to them both?

What we have done already:
- Moved them to a bigger tank with stable heat source, an over head heat lamp.
- Move them to seperate containers to eat in, and even placing Obi in a darkened room (since he seems to have trouble with bright light since he's albino)
- Have tried a variety of foods. Mealies, crickets, waxies, and now this baby food.
- Did attempt the whole putting them in a shoebox bit... only to have the brand new heating pad go out shortly after going to bed, right after I got them set up.
- Cut open mealies and waxies in an attempt to coax them into eatting by rubbing the innards on their faces... didn't work.

Get rid of the overhead light and use Under Tank Heat (UTH). The floor temp should be 95 on the hot side. What is your current floor temp?

Can you post a pic of your enclosure?

Id recommend a trip to the vet. More than likely its a parasite thing they had before you even got them, or from the stress of changed environment.
That slurry is awesome, its a thread at the top of the health and medication page.

Geez, I even forgot about this post. lol.

Little up date on the two -

They're still on the baby food (since hubby strongly objects to me putting mealies in the blender... what a wuss.), but Dante did grab up a cricket one night last week. I also spoke to a friend of mine from high school who happens to be in school (and is pretty close to completing) to be a small animals/exotic vet. So after the usual 20 questions she came to the conclusion that it sounds like parasites, which I had suspected. They have a vet apoinment later on today as a result. Hopefully this will finally give us the answers we need to get these two back on track.

Unfortunetally the vet didn't tell us anything we didn't know already. But she did happen to do a weigh in for them both, and to my surprise Obi was a shocking 5 grams while Dante was a mere 8 grams. Whatever is going on needs to be fixed. So she set us up with a suplement called Carnivore Care to mix in with the baby food we've been giving them and also suggested giving them gatorade soaks (funny, case I read about that on here last week and thought about it) and nice warm soaks after they eat to aid digestion.
