Hello people of the gecko world, hehe. I was wondering if you could help me, i'm not sure whether this question comes under the genetics section or this, but oh well. Here goes...

I have started planning to breed my leopard gecko, she is a 1 year old normal.
In June i am going to a show and will be buying the most beautiful male i can find :main_rolleyes:.
I was just wondering, if i breed my normal female with a male of a different morph will the babies all be normals? Or will they come out somewhere in between?

Yeah i know stupid question, but any help would be greatly appreciated because this will be my first time breeding...
Thanx

Depends on what you get. If you get a recessive morph like say an albino all offspring will be heterozygous for that trate and show some visual characteristics of both parents. if not recessive then offspring will still show characteristics of both parents with varying degrees. if you get an enigma for instance which is dominant some of the babies perhaps half or more in some cases will be enigmas with some characteristics of the mother. you will end up getting normal-ish looking enigmas.

Yay, I have a new male, not sure if i'll breed him, i think he is a tremper albino. If i breed him with my normal female will they be normals?

If you keep your nicest female baby from this year and breed her back to the father next year, you'll have some nice tremper albinos.

Just some food for thought. you said your female was one year old, before breeding her make sure that she is up to weight and healthy(not skinny),and you have all the the things you'll need for incubating and housing the babies. You should also quarantine your male before introducing. Hope this helps and good luck;)
