Substrate Question

What is the best and safest substrate to use for breeding leopard geckos?

They don't need a special substrate to breed.

If you are referring to the lay box I use coconut fiber and it works fine for me. If you mean substrate for their enclosure...I use shelf liner and paper towel.

for the lay box and incubator i am going to use paper towels for the enclosure

For the incubator use either vermiculite, hatchrite, perilite or something along those lines.

Yea use paper towls as substrate... In the lay box you can use Moss,Vermiculite,Coconut fiber,etc etc... I use a coco fiber/vermiculite mix I find it works great because i go away a lot so my eggs do dry up from the coconut fiber becoming dry.

I have been happiest with coco fiber. Originally I used vermiculite but then I noticed it coming out the other end so I stopped using it.
