Growth spurt?

Do leos go through a big growth spurt around a year old? I've never had a leo at this age before so I don't know

Presley has been eating everyday for the last 4 days. He ate 8 giant mealies, then the next day he was doing the "whip their head around at any movement" thing. So I got the mealies out and he ate another 4. Yesterday, the same thing. So I offered and he ate 5. Then this morning he ate 5 more. And when he ate this morning he was literally lunging at the mealies. He hiked his back end up about two inches and dove at the mealie from about 8 inches away. It was crazy.

He never ate this much until 4 days ago...

Think back... did you feed him that much 4 days ago? Or give him the time to decide he would eat that much?
Sometime it is hard to figure out
their power eating, or when they won't touch it at all.
I always felt when they got hungry they will eat......
unless dropping weight rapidly and maybe sick.
I like to see them eat and I have one that will power eat
every time I see him.......I never worry about that
guy and he's getting about the same age(year) and still growing.
Take care. HJ

I feed him until he's done. I drop one mealie at a time into his tank. When he's done he goes into his warm hide, or he will kind of lick at it then walk away. I don't have a bowl of mealies in there all the time (I like to know how much he eats). He's not losing any weight. Before he would usually eat 5 or 6 giant mealies every other day. That's why I was curious as to why he's been eating so much

Sounds like you have the best method
of feeding possible and are on top of the hobby and
your friend's care to me.
That's Great.
It may be a growth spurt.as you said.
I had one male that hit worms so hard that he threw them
into the neighbor's yard. Take care. HJ

lol Funny image. XD

Your little one sounds like my Mandarin. I feed him every other day now, but jeez. He'll eat 5-8 or so superworms in one sitting. I was feeding him crickets, but I'm sick and tired of them.
Meanwhile, my Tiamat will only eat one-two supers every other day, but she seems to be healthy. It's funny how different these guys can be for having such a simple brain.
