Superworms

Ok, I thought I wanted to feed my leos superworms, but now, since I got them and saw the size of their jaws and claws, I am having second thoughts. Those jaws look like they CAN chew through a leo's stomach and, even though they currently aren't interested, I am freaking out about feeding them to my leos. I guess what I am looking for here is reasurance. Have you ever had problems feeding supers to adults with the heads on?

I find they get bored if you do just one or the other all the time. I do mostly mealworms with the youngsters, mostly superworms with the adults. Supers are nutritionally a bit better than the mealworms as they have a better chitin (exoskeleton) to meat ratio.

I Fed my adult leos Superworms as a staple for a few years and they did great. I always had a few that, for whatever reason, would prefer to starve to death rather than eat a superworm, so those got mealies.

lol ok. my tang is eating large mealies and crix, so do you think she will take an interest in the supers? Can someone post a pic of large mealies?

She will likely think they are a great meal. Like Kelli says, there are some that don't!

Mostly they "juice" :tongue: you, so I handle them with latex gloves!
