Tail deformity

My baby gecko has a deformity of the tail. The base actually sticks out right to the side. You can sort of see it in my avatar picture. She's been having some eating problems, so it's more noticable now. Will this hinder her ability to store fat in her tail? I just was wondering, please give me your opinions about it.

It shouldn't hinder her tail's storage ability.

I have noticed that tail kinks don't grow as fast and they have trouble shedding.
