I have read about and seen many geckos lately with tail kinks. Here is my question...

If you breed a gecko with a tail kink, are the offspring going to have a tail kink?

I've seen everything from people saying "no, it's not hereditary," that is just "pops up" to people saying that it's related to incubation temps.

I do not have a gecko with a kink, nor am I thinking about breeding one. I am just very curious as to what some of our large scale breeders think, or have had experience regarding this issue. Thanks for any and all input! :main_yes:

i think its down to temps or maybe its just random mutation like use some children are born this problems with no genetic or medical reason its just fate i guess

thats just my opinion

I know there was a thread about this a while ago. Somebody posted on there saying, they tried to breed a “tornado tail” (I just made that name up, but they wanted the tail to twist around with some many kink it would look like a spring). I guess what happens when you breed them with tail kinks is that the eternal organs get twisted as well.

I don’t know how factual that is, but it’s what I’ve heard.
