No he just dropped the tip, where it was all dried up and red, the rest of it is the normal color.

yeah that's what I figured would happen. When the very tip fell off i betcha there wasnt an open wound was there?.like I posted, 10 yrs ago when it happened to me when the tip fell off there wasnt an open wound it had already healed itself. She'll be ok

I've never had any tails drop. So how did that one drop, or how does it work? Do they bite it off? Or did he decide to release it? Because I thought maybe since he didn't drop it when it happened I'm thinking he bit it off or can they still just drop it?

I've never had or seen a tail drop before, does this look normal or healthy compared to those of you who have experienced this? How long does it take for it to fullly regenerate?

So the open wound will just heal up and it will be a stubby tail...no actual tip to it?

Its actually good to hear that he dropped the tip instead of holding on and later turn into an infection. Just keep watching as long as the rest of the tail remains the right color and texture, he'll do fine. He may or may not regenerate the tail tip; you'll have to wait and see. Good luck!

Update

Just thought I'd let yall know, his tail has seemed to heal up pretty quick after I have been putting neosporin on it every few days. He also ate and pooped for me the first time since I've had him for about 3 weeks, so he shoud be healthy and hopefully ready to breed within the next couple months! So thanks for all of the help during this little crisis!
