I got some crickets for the beardie as "enrichment" since it's been too hot to take him outside and decided to give Griff a cricket or two as well. The usual bug diet is roaches & silkies/horns/superworms. Griff gets roaches and supers or mealworms. I don't like keeping crickets. :p

OMG! The tail wagging I've read bout but didn't see until the crickets came. :D :main_laugh:

This is just the cutest thing I've ever seen. Go ahead an laugh at me, but Griff won't wag for roaches or either worms I give him. Put a cricket in there....the family laughs at me because I'm talkin like a little kid and gigglin watchin Griff hunt and chow down. :p

Anyone else have a leo that wags for only certain bugs?

I've got one male that had the very end of his tail dropped before I got him, so it is very blunt at the end. I laugh my butt off when he wiggles it going for some prey. It is so funny looking!

Yup, mine will only shake their tail tips when they see crickets and nothing else.

I've got a few females that will wiggle when hunting roaches. But all the other geckos get fed out of bowls. So they just perch on the edge of the bowl and take them out one by one. It is pretty cool though cause when I pour the roaches in they can here the little roach feet pitter pattering all around and the geckos come running out of all of their hides for dinner!

lol Yoshie does this tail wagging whenever I give her insects that I seldom give her like moths or spiders. It's really amusing! :D

I've got a leo with a blunted tail too. He wags it for roaches and crickets. Funniest thing in existence, seeing their fat little butt-tails waggles about! XD
