I've known for a while. I never said it was right.

i have the utmost respect for what the man did for our hobby. he along with phillipe are pioneers in my eyes. but that doesn't make him or anyone else for that matter immune to questioning and criticism. his actions speak for themselves. i'm not anti anyone, but i have the right to disagree with something just like you do. adam was giving some great information regarding the genetics behind "tangelos" and this thread somehow got turned into a soap box for your man crush on RT. like i said, you are welcome to believe what you want to believe, but if you were a little more open minded and not so defensive in your debates, you might learn something new. it just seems like every time someone gives you information contrary to what you thought was set in stone, you have an issue with them. this site has some members that are among the best and most knowledgeable gecko breeders in the world. you will not find another gecko forum out there that can claim that. my advice is to just step back, read what people have to say, and start over from a neutral position. you might just have some fun here.

If all the tangerine lines were the result of different genes then it would not be possible to cross the various lines to further improve them, instead the result would be a normal gecko carrying both genes just like when albino strains are crossed.
I like the way you think, Tony.

BTW, since Golden Gate Geckos' Murphy Patternless have a very distinct, identifiable look to them (line bred?), I am now naming them "Lemon-Drops" because that is my favorite martini. So, any combination morph that has GGG patternless genes in them will hereby be called 'Marcia's Martinis'. All others will simply be pattys... no exceptions.

Tangelos are a line bred, high contrast tangerine albino that doesn't have the hypo gene. I really like the clean whites against the hot orange. Watching the color fill in on them is fun as well. Might not be genetically distinct from other tangerine lines, but this tang albino project has been going on for a long time now, so I can have respect for that and the results. (this isn't a thread about marketing so I will leave it at that :)

Thorgecko... some breeders are notorious for changing the name of existing morphs and claiming they are the originator. I could be wrong but I believe Alberto Cadolini of A & M Gecko originated the name "Tangello" for these Tremper Hybinos. Do you think these geckos in the picture look to be Tangellos?

I think the left one is a sunglow and the right one is a tangelo? Did I win? Lol. As fuzzy said, I am one sided. My brain is a brick but I'm trying. You have to understand I just joined this forum and before this it was just Ron telling me what's what. You all have already changed some of my ideas I've learned over the past 15 years. This place is a wealth of infinite intelligence.

They are both from my Tremper Giant Hybino project and were hatched in 2004. I called them "Tremper Giant Hybinos". I sold the project to someone and now I see geckos from the exact same bloodline being called Tangelos. Funny how that works! :main_evilgrin:

So line breeding is the only difference? Did you notice it to be dominant genes? I know hypo is dominant but it says tangelo to tangelo makes super tangelo. I just thought it made better looking, but only if you selective breed.

Yeah it is dominant because the original non albino used to make the Hets was a Super Hypo Carrot Tail, which is a dominant trait. A "Super Tangelo" is a Tremper Albino SHTCT aka Tremper Hybino.

So besides having a carrot head, my sunglow (Tremper albino shtctch) is aka super tangelo aka Tremper hybino?
