I just wanted to let people know about this great tank cover I got for my bearded dragon tank. It's a metal mesh cover that has velcro around the edge. There's also adhesive velcro that comes with it that you put around the top edge of the tank. To open the tank, you just unhook the velcro. I got this for a tank that's 36" x 18" and came with one of those covers that slides out. Since the tank is against the wall and on a piece of furniture, every time I wanted to take Ollie out I had to reach past this slid out top --there's no access from the sides. This solves the whole problem. I can open the tank from wherever I want as much as I want. I use hinged tank tops for my leopard geckos. I don't even know if they make hinged tops for tanks this size. I imagine this would be good for arboreal geckos as well if you have to have them in top-opening cages since you could just open a corner. It's made by Oasis. I got mine from Herpsupplies.com for a really excellent price. Has anyone else ever heard of this stuff?

Umm, well I don't really understand what you are describing, but I think I might have an idea. Is it fully screened? or only on top? I want to get a cage like that for a stick bug I am getting!

It's not a cage. It's just a cage cover that you would put on top of an aquarium. Usually people buy a metal or plastic screen cover that fits over the top of the tank. Sometimes it's just one piece and sometimes it's hinged in the middle so you can fold back the cover to get the gecko out without having to actually remove the whole cover and put it down somewhere. Now imagine instead of having to take off a tank cover, you would have a tank cover that was velcroed to the top of your tank and you'd just pull the corner up and put your hand in. If you want to see a picture and a description look here:

herpsupplies.com has a better price, though.

Boy, they are quite pricey still. They look super nice, but 1. I don't use tanks (except for snakes) and 2. I can't afford that! lol But, anyone else have one? Is it worth the $30 for one over top my snake cage?

I had this idea a while back and even made them for my veiled tanks and I can make and sell them for a lot less than I see them priced at esp with the screening they are using.
