Day 47....I find myself just staring at the single egg I am waiting on to hatch.
This egg means a lot to me. It is from my very first leo (wild type), purchased about 7.5 years ago and she was at least a year old then, if not older. She had been with a male before and never produced anything so I assumed she was infertile which was fine with me, I loved her regardless. She was later placed with a breeding group with another male (SHTCT Jungle)...and soon I later noticed she was gravid. She had two single-egg clutches and I am impatiently waiting for her first egg to hatch. The hatchlings will more than likely not be anything special morph wise but it will be amazing to see my first girls egg...if only it would hurry up already!:D

To be honest, I kinda get the same way still... Even after many years of hatching eggs, I still get that feeling when it comes close to hatch time... It kinda like that feel you got when you were a kid before X-mass... LOL...

I figure if that feeling ever went away, breeding these animals would not be as fun... I still get excited but have learned to control myself and not open the incubator to check on them every few hours before the eggs are due to hatch... LOL

Yeah not good to be opening the incubator too much... makes the eggs take longer and could possibly hurt the other eggs that are not close to hatching.

I am patiently waiting for my first of the season as well... I feel bad because I have such a slow start compared to soo many other people. Keep telling myself its not a race...

If my first female were in better health then I would try to breed her but she is a little on the thin side and has become such a picky eater when she lays. She has been laying infertile eggs without being bred.

Well grats on the eggs and hope they hatch soon! Keep us posted :)

Haha, glad I am not the only one. There are several eggs in there now but I have positioned this one right at the window of the bator so I peak in and see if there are any changes...and there never is. But, I know once this one hatches it will be another egg that is in front of the little window.

It's exciting and nerve racking but amazing when you actually think about the whole process. Gotta love this time of the year :)

Thanks Michelle :) Will do. I don't open my incubator except to put new ones in or to add water but I have two window like areas on the top that let you see the inside and I just kind of stare at it now...sad really lol.

Anything involving waiting I pretty much suck at...ovulating, waiting for them to lay eggs, waiting for them to hatch, then waiting for everyone to cycle again. I love it and I hate it. But anything good is worth waiting for :)
