We bought a new laptop almost 2 months ago and the E button just fell off. I was just typing the other day and it was stuck to my finger. I had never realized how many times we use E in the English language. Now Gateway has to send me packing materials so send it in and have the keyboard replaced. I should have it back in a few weeks though! LOL Thank goodness for a back up computer. 35 E's in that paragraph I think. :main_laugh: :main_rolleyes:

LOL! I know how that is. My S button quit working a few months ago...I had to get a new keyboard too....you don't realize how much you use it until it's gone.:main_rolleyes:

A cat that talks is an amazing kitty!

Haha I did it! My M button feel off the other day, but I managed to reattach it. I hate having to send my computer anywhere so I either fix it myself or have the technician come to me.

You should have bought a Dell, they send techs out to your house so you don't have to send your laptop out (I know this because I used to be one of the Techs tat went ut to peoples houses'work place to fix the, :) )

Yeah, I guess that's what I get for not spending the extra $200 for 1 less gig!

We had some keys fall off our gateway keyboard as well a few years back... we brought it to a local store and they replaced the whole thing.

Yah, th frakin lttr ky! :p

This is the one time I wish I would have purchased the store warranty. Although, I'm sure they would have just sent it in to have it replaced rather than giving me a new one anyway.

Hard to say but I guess that it would depend on the store

If it goes back to the manufacturer-that's a lot of transit time for them to just stick a new key on it

I have 2 Toshiba laptops that I love and one key did come off the 2 year old one and it snapped right back on
I was amazed and delighted to see it do that

I pound away on the keys on the 8 month old one-it has Vista and I use it more-and thankfully the keys are staying put-knocks on wood
:main_rolleyes:

I have had no problems at all with either Toshiba laptop and I got great deals on the both of them
One was $499-the one with Vista
Wal-Mart bought too many last fall and they put the remaining ones on clearance to get rid of them
The first one was $599 with a 3 in 1 printer/scanner

I upgraded the ram on both myself from one to two gigs and both are dual core processors
They have 80 gig HD's and I added externals since the price of external HD's has dropped like crazy in the past year

Hope that you get your E back soon
:D
