I got a breeding trio from a guy a few months ago, and noticed the females were very thin (IMO). I got on here, started doing some research, and started to supplement them with the Gold Gate Geckos Slurry Recipe, on top of them being separated from the male and getting their own food bowl every night so I can keep tabs on who's eating what.

Here are the results within a 2 week period of time...

First female: Lana. Her coloring has REALLY blossomed. Her tail thickened nicely, and her attitude did a 180. Where before she would not even let me hold her (you all know the cute yet oddly terrifying screech these guys can emit), she now crawls willingly into my hand when I lower it into her tank. She looks even better now...the pictures do not do her color justice. She is a really rusty orange, I think she's beautiful.

Here's the second female: Lois. Her cooring has also improved a lot as well. She's always been a sweetie, but even more so now. Her prey drive has about tripled...this little one will jump off the tank floor when I'm lowering her food bowl down every night. She is the one that layed the last clutch, providing me with Nala, the little black and white baby I posted about recently.

So as you can see...the results are VERY worth it. They are healthier, happier, and even prettier. Thank you so much Marcia for the wonderful recipe! :main_thumbsup:

After seeing these results I'm thinking of doing this myself with my little male who has barely eaten since I got him.

WOW!!! I am absolutley thrilled that my slurry recipe has saved so many gecko's lives! Thank you for posting the photos, and I hope your lovely geckos continue to thrive and bring you joy.

Someday, I'll tell the story about how the slurry came about...

Marcia, you really have helped a lot of people with that recipe. I'm sure there are many more success stories on here!

As far as how much I fed them, and how...
I either used a tiny baby bottle (you can find them at any farm and home store) or a cleaned out old eye drop bottle. You just drip a little out, touch it on the tip of their mouth area and they will do the rest. It may take a little, but once they taste it they have no problem licking it off the tip of the bottle, or dropper as you squeeze it. I just fed the geckos until they stopped and walked away :) I wasn't worried about overfeeding because they were so skinny.

And the best thing about the slurry...make a bunch of it, put it in a brownie tin, freeze it, cube it up, and put it in some freezer bags for later :)

Did you have much trouble feeding the slurry to them?

Do you just let it warm up before you feed it? Sorry, if that is a stupid question.

Thanks guys. I was really happy with how much healthier they look. If anyone has any doubts, try feeding it for a week...I saw differences in as little as 5 days.
