These two hatchlings are stumping me...

The babies that have hatched this year look nothing like the hatchlings I hatched last year from this pair...of course, that doesn't mean anything.

But i'm really beginning to get a funny feeling...a Maury Povich "you are NOT the father" type of moment. The kind of moment that makes me a little nauseous.

Without telling you guys the parents right now, what do you guys think these babies are? Each gecko has two solid red eyes.

I can see this could potentially be quite difficult...I guess I should confess...the pairing is supposed to be nova x reverse stripe raptor.

however...

These babies don't look anything like what they produced last year.

I think you have the right parents, just different looking babies. Theres so many different way genes can express themselves :)

Reverse stripe and banded raptor babes. Sounds like appropriate babies for that pair.

I hatched out a few banded raptors from a reverse stripe raptor, it was all mom's fault they werent reverse stripe! eh it happens...

Babies fit the pairing. The second one is just a really light one. It certainly looks as though it could be a Snow but the pairing wouldn't facilitate that. Unless you acquired a snow that was undetermined or caught by the breeder...which would be a nice plus. Congrats on the hatch though. Very nice babies

Thats what was stumping me...that second one looks kinda snow-ish to me also...the only male snows I own are a dreamsicle and a mack snow. Neither of which I have paired with this girl...

See...these two aren't clutchmates. Baby #2 had a clutchmate that died before it pipped...when I opened the egg, it had orange eyeliner EXACTLY like my dreamsicle who usually throws that trait into every single one of his offspring...and that's when my heart dropped into my stomach...

I'm racking my brain, and racking my brain, and I can't think of once that I ever had them together...but that second baby and it's clutchmate that didn't make it, really raised an eyebrow.

Thanks to all who have replied...there are 6 more eggs cooking from this female, so sooner or later, hopefully I will get to the bottom of this! :)
