They're ovulating again?!

So I moved about a week ago and prior to the move I was so worried about the last few eggs in the incubator (how was I going to maintain the temp for two hours while we drove to my new apartment?) but luckily, everyone was out just before the big move. I took apart my incubators, packed them all up, got all my little guys in traveling tubs and off we went.

Well now, a week later, two of my girls I thought were done laying for the season began ovulating again. Their weights are still up so I went ahead and paired them again. Not only that, but a couple of girls I wasn't sure I was going to get to breed this season are also finally ovulating. I'm so excited that I don't have to be finished with the baby thing yet this year :)

Now my dilemma: do I do what I did earlier in the year and have a male and a female incubator? Or since I'm only going to have a few females laying should I just set up one and pick a medium temp? Or maybe I'll just incubate them all for female in case these don't sell as well as their older siblings did...

Gah! Decisions, decisions..:p

Some leos are known late ovulators. I have one that usually doesn't start until around Oct, when most of the other girls are well past done.

As far as what to do, well that depends on your plans for the hatchlings. If you plan on keeping most of them, incubate for whatever sex you prefer. If you want to sell them, I'd probably just do a mixed sex incubation. If you have any doubts about selling them(and when I get late season eggs I pretty much plan on keeping them until spring at least since it gets way to cold for shipping in the winter here) I'd probably go for females, since at least at that point you won't have multiple males to worry about.

There are little tricks you can do to encourage them to start ovulating (search the site for the paper towel trick), but in all honesty, they'll just ovulate when they're ready.

Ive got a couple females ovulating right now. I'm thinking the colder weather has started my season early this year. Another breeder on this site has a leo ovulating as well. My fat tails are starting to ovulate as well.
