I really meant the emphasis to be on the "things going well" because right at the moment everyone is eating well, pooping and everyone's colors look good, even the breeders. I just figured it's good to share good news as well as bad news. The "almost" part is that 4 of my last 5 hatchlings have hatched out at term and not survived. The last 2 were from the same clutch. I found each of them within hours of hatching, dead, with yolk sacs still attached. One of them had deformed front limbs with digits missing. The other 2 hatched while I was away and a friend (with experience) removed them from the incubator and put them where I had told her to. When I got back a few days later, they were both dead. The third hatchling she removed was fine. hard to know whether or not I could have done something. It's disheartening, but I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong, and the hatchlings that are surviving look pretty good.

Awwww! How did the 2nd set of hatchlings die? Do you think they fought or something? Well, I'm glad to hear that all the rest of your leos are doing great. Congradulations!

Thats awesome your having a good year even with all the bad :) I have had around 18 bad eggs and one premie I had to put to sleep. I have 1 egg I am not sure of yet. Day 70 incubating. I also hatched 13 adorable leopard geckos. But with all that happening, for my 1st year I am having a great season :)

in my thoughts
I am so glad the good things are better then the bad. Its still hard to loose a baby but its weird people don't get as upset if an egg goes bad rather then a new born baby dieing. I thankfully haven't lost any babies this year...yet and I am hoping it stays that way. 5 eggs have gone bad out of 40+ eggs and that was my fault so I think I am doing pretty good compare to last year. Well anyway I hope your season stays "good" for ya:D
good luck

The second set hatched a day apart and each was dead. One of the first two that didn't make it was in with a clutchmate but it didn't have any bite marks on it. I think the 3 that hatched while I was gone may have been there for a day or more before my friend could make it over. One of them came from an egg that I had thought was no good and still had its yolk sac attached. I think it was one of those things.
