we have one already. she is about 17 months old. Can I add another one to the cage or would I need a new cage? Will she eat a baby?

The new gecko needs to be female. It needs to be an adult if yours is an adult and in any case it needs to be kept separate for at least a month of quarantine to make sure no one is sick. For best results, get a new setup, get a new (female) gecko and when it grows up, try the 2 of them together but be prepared to keep them separate if they don't get along.

ok thanks. that is kind of what I thought... If we get two new babies can they remain in the same cage? (separate from my adult one obviously)

They have to be both females, and most people would advise nothing smaller then a 20 Long tank for two.
