Yeah, the garage is cold, so instead of placing the heat tape on the back side of the tub, I now have it on the entire tub, floor temp of tub is about 87 degrees. I have seen some more activity of the roaches, but the food pile is still there.

All these stories of simple and eat anything roaches.......just isn't so for me.....

I have had my colony for about a month. I use high protein cat food, fruits and veggeis and water crystals. They dont eat the cat food to much that I can see but they love everything else. The females are having babies left and right. Now im just waiting for them to get some size on them so I can feed them to me leos.

Right now, they are all there, no dead yet.........

the tub temp is about 89 degrees now sitting in the garage.....I hate to have to bring it inside..........I might just have to...............

but still no big improvement in the dubias' appetite for their food that I hear from others.....they have not eaten much.

still no improvements on eating pattern or amount eaten. I am making room in the laundry room and move them from the garage to see if that will help.....worried the cat will be curious and harass the dubias :main_evilgrin:

i feed old fashioned oatmeal and veggies. when i first started it was super slow, but when i added heat it went fast. i tried cat food, but the cat food stank so bad i quickly stopped that. sometimes i add koi pellets, but i dont think the roaches really like em. it seems that oatmeal and veggies is what they go for. and oranges, they looooooooooove oranges.

I picked up a dozen dubia this past weekend at a show, and the person I bought them from said to use echo earth as a bedding. I didnt hear anyone here talk about a bedding though, do you recommend an echo earth bedding or do you not use a bedding at all?
