im thinking of geting a lep, i have a 10 gallon tank and 60 watt red heat bulb, and some hides and water,calcuim dishes, what else do i need to own a leopard gecko?

you will need a under the tank heater for the hot side and maybe a rheostat or thermostat to gauge the temp of the UTH. Also need a digital thermometer to keep track of the temps in the tank on hot side and cold side. One hide on warm side one on cool and then a humid hide with paper towels or moss in and and keep it humid in there for shedding.

i have the dust and i know they eat mealworms, and waxworms, im oretty sure,i can get a nither heatmat and a lamp dimmer, i have 2 for my ball python, is that all?

You will need all this stuff:

You can feed a variety of insects, BTW. It's actually much healthier. There's crickets, mealworms, superworms, roaches, silkworms, butterworms...i'm sure there's more...

Pick up a vitamin supplement to go along with the calcium supplement.

As far as this goes...

Ooh, and bugs. :tongue3: And food for the bugs. If the bugs are the kind of bugs that need food.


I am SO helpful, I astound myself.

STUTFL is right...it is important to feed the insects a vitamin enriched diet for 24-48 hours before you feed them to your gecko. Otherwise, they're really eating nothing of nourishment, only Chitin.
