I have this normal female which weighted 52 grams when i breed her to my SHTCT male. Its been over 4 weeks ago that she breed. This is the first year she has been breed. I already had one of my Ghost leopard gecko lay an egg and she is a first year breeder too. The ghost breed about two weeks after my normal female did or atleast the normal female was introduced to my male 2 weeks earlier. She has two large eggs inside her right now and is looking like she is going to pop. She still gets around good and doesn't seems to have any problems. Should i be worried or does it take this long for a first time breeder sometimes? Thanks for the time and comments!

Some take a bit longer.. although four weeks is a bit long. Be patient and make sure she is comfortable... (has anything changed in her environment??? Could she be stressed for some other reason??)
Have you felt her stomach to see if it is hardened?? If it is she may be eggbound and will need a vet.
OR she could be reabsorbing them if she doesnt have enough nutrients... if neither is the case I would think she is fine.

Well she is still fat and has fat reserves in her tail too. I have felt her stomach and everything seems like normal. I see her walking around all the time and have notice her scratching in the moist hide but its been about a week or more since she started. I hope that she is reobsorbing them instead of being egg bound but who wouldn't want that. I thought that was a little long not to lay but she acts normal and seems fine. I just want to make sure ahead of time if i need to do anything.

She is with other geckos in a fourty gallon and i have heard that they sometimes won't lay around others. I have been contemplating moving her but don't want to move her and stress her out more unless i have to.

Whats the longest for you that a geckos has layed after being breed?

Its a good idea not to change anything for now... reabsorbing is def. better than being eggbound. If she is healthy she might just not be ready to lay yet. The longest for me has been three weeks... have you noticed her shedding in the past week???
Could you possible take the other geckos that arent gravid out to give her some privacy.. I am sure she wont miss them!! This could help if you have the room, that way she still feels secure. I have heard of AFTs taking up to five... not sure about leos tho.

Anyone else have a gecko take more than three weeks to lay???
More than four???

I know that one of the other females in the tank is gravid right now and the other might be but i don't think so, she still has a smaller belly and can't see eggs. Her last shed was over a week ago maybe even two weeks ago. I think your right about not moving her so i will see what happens the next couple days. If she is egg bound wouldn't she be not moving as much and seem to be in pain?

I introduced my males and females Jan. 15. At that time no one was ovulating (are you sure your female was ovulating when they bred? Some females will permit breeding even though they're not ovulating). I would say that by the end of Feb. just about everyone was ovulating, but to date one female has laid 3 clutches like clockwork and a second female just laid her first clutch yesterday. A third looks as if she's about to drop what seems to be 1 egg and has just gone into shed. I'm still waiting on the other 3 plus a 4th who was just introduced to the male. It has not been unusual, as you can see, for a lot of weeks to go by between first breeding and laying, at least in my house.

That could be possibly it! She could of been breed and not ovulating until recently. She looks like she will bust any day now. You can see two nice sized eggs in her belly and theres no mistaking these. It was a yealring male that i introduced her to so he may not of "DONE IT" right the first time and it could of took a second time. I didn't see for my own eyes her getting bred so i don't know when exactly "IT" happened. Thats one reason i'm not really worried because there are so many varialbe that could come into play but like i said just want to keep a eye on her.

So i checked on her last night when i got home and the tank was destructed. She is a first year breeder and layed 2 monster eggs. I was really suprised and happy she got them out. She looks so much thinner now she got those 2 eggs out. Thanks everyone for the input. I got a feeling that she is going to be a good breeder.
