tips for breeding mealies with geckos?

i want to put a 2 in high piece of glass that runs from the back of my tank to the front in the middle of the tank and fill one side with dirt and raise mealies inside the tank....

Raising mealies inside of the enclosure sounds like a cool idea, but the loose substrate that you use as bedding for the mealies could be accidentally ingested by your geckos when they hunt the worms resting on it. This could lead to impaction, which can be fatal to your geckos.

Well first reason it prob wont work is a 2in. Piece is not going to stop your gecko from eating them constantly. Secondly mealworms eat the substrate that they are kept on. They dont eat DIRT. And if they did they wont be very nutrious. They also will cannabilize the aliens. So your colony will be dead in a few months. JMO
