So it's tough enough that it's Passover, the season of eating too many hard boiled eggs because there's not a whole lot else to eat, and the season of Easter where people are trying to get eggs from rabbits, and Noah's Ark in the Northeast where everything outside is soaked, but of course my SEVEN YEAR OLD beardie just has to lay her eggs today! The huge planter I got her to lay in was soaked so I ended up pulling out a plastic 8 gallon tank and dumping in every potting soil remnant I could find. She spent all afternoon at it, fell asleep in there after laying 18 eggs and popped out another 8 when I finally washed her off and put her to bed for a total of 26. They're all slugs because she's not with a male and I have no intention of breeding her (last year she laid 85 eggs in 3 clutches). Hasn't she heard of menopause?!

Glad she pulled thru ok. My Girl Big RHonda laid 140 fertile eggs in 5 clutch's last year.
She is retired at this point.

Yup, she gets lots of Repashy calcium plus. The count is up to 27. I found another egg in the tank when I came home today. She generally lays 3-4 clutches each year. Last year it was 85 eggs in 3 clutches. I won't breed her because I don't want to deal with (or sell beardie babies).

My Dharma had done that once before! It was so strange!
She laid out over 30 infertile eggs and she was like 9 years old at the time!

I'm glad your little lady is okay. Good luck getting her back up to speed.

whew makes me glad my old lady doesnt lay eggs anymore! She is going to be pushing 9 years old this year, she is still a champ but I dont need to deal with the stress of her laying eggs, it is hard enough on a young female!

Ollie's third clutch of 28 eggs for a grand season total of 90. Not bad for a 7 year old. I hope she's done.

you REALLY REALLY need a male!!!!

Actually, I really DON'T need a male. Where would I keep 90 baby beardies and how would I feed them, not to mention sell them to people, half of whom would realize too late what it takes to keep and feed a beardie and then put it on craigslist (I'm not saying no one should breed beardies, just that I shouldn't).
