Or you could put some crickets in a plastic tub and then put the gecko in there for 10-15 mins. or until it's obvious he doesn't want to eat anymore.

I would take everything out and leave the crix in there for a little while. If crickets don't work out for you try making the switch to meal worms. I recently made the switch and meal worms are working out much better. I will still occasionally feed crickets to not give the leos so much fat and change up ther diet...

I had that same problem with the fake plants and 3 hides it took me a while to catch the crickets. Now I remove their back legs and put them in the feeding dish. Works perfect so far.

If you can take out 1 or 2 decorations. If you don't want to do that i would recommend feeding meal worms.

I don't have anything plastic in my tanks except for the cave hide which arn't really plastic. All of my plants are a soft haired cactus that i get from lows and also suculents works well to just get torn up sometimes. Anything wood wise that has holes I use hot glue to close the holes that allow them to crawl inside. Other than that i had no problems with crickets hiding. Put a small amout in the tank and you can always put in more when they eat em all. You don't want crickets in there 24/7 because they can eat the fecal matter and create a parasite problem. I have pictures on reptile geeks with the same ID i have on here. I have had no problems with the cactus at all.

This is what I do. It gives me a chance to hold them for a few minutes as well. Although Tiamat gets fed in her tank because she gets distracted by a new area and will try to climb out rather than eat. Mandarin is a eating machine. I had him in a box and he downed ten crickets and three small supers! lol I have the same problem with having too many hiding places for crickets in my tanks. :\

I know it is gross but we smash the heads of the crickets. They can still move but not as fast and if they do get away and hide, they just die.

I just remove crickets back legs with a knife but its very time consuming, if I find a big enough plastic cage Ill try throwing them in there
