I am curious how much my juvie is supposed to eat. I just started him on mealworms today. I fed him 6 small crickets and 3 mealworms. He ate them all no problem, and probably would have eaten more. My guy has never stopped eating, I've had to call it quits each time. Does this seem like enough or should I feed more mealworms? Thanks!

It may sound weird, but it will eat as much as it needs to, and if it eats too much, it will throw up and probably learn its lesson. The general advice is to keep a bowl of mealworms in the enclosure at all times and to feed as many crickets as it will eat in 15 minutes. Enjoy.

Agreed with AC. When my girl was still a juvie, she would put back food like I'd never have imagined. Easily a dozen medium crickets a night, often times more. Most people don't cut back on food until the gecko is about adult size, but they normally do it on their own anyway. So don't overthink it too much at this point. :)

Most of my juvies eat 3/4 to large crickets. Make sure they are gutloaded properly! A growing juvie will eat 8-12 crickets or 15+ mealworms a day.
