ok this is thinking outside the box but is there a possibility the male is a snow blizzard?

Even if the father looks like a Super Snow it is not genetically possible...

There's no other explination to it. I know we like to think we know everything about certain genetic possibilities but I guess this is just proof that we dont. Heck we still dont even understand our own genetics much less that of a gecko. Im not trying to be defensive or anything, I just know what my gecko is, and its visibly clear what he is, but what he had is not a snow. Snows arent born yellow and black/brown.

They look jet black in the reflection but I think I see a black iris, and a really dark gray outside to the eye.

He's a little darker then usual cause I'm cooling the geckos at 78F at night now. But his eyes are defiantly solid black. Here's a couple pics, one of each eye.

lol, what about the jet black eyes?
I think we do need some eye shots to try to figure this out..:main_robin:

i have seen blizzards with snake eyes and solid black eyes.

are these the first hatchlings from this male? if not what were they? did you produce this guy or buy it from sommeone else?

you originally said that in your experience super snows can sometimes throw normal babies. does this mean you have other super snows that produce normal babies or just this male? hmm i am completely confused

This is the first hatchlings off this male. Its his first year breeding, he was fall hatch last year. The same for the female he was bred to. The male came from Pacific Gecko.

I do have other super snows, but the super snows Ive seen hatch out normals was a friend's who lives in France.

hmm could you have mixed up the eggs?

I'd had to been drunk or high (which I haven't been lol) to do that. I had 4 breeding containers this year. Container #1 had this PSS male, 4 super hypo females, and 1 PSS female. Container #2 had Tremper Giant x Tangelo Giant. Container #3 had Raptor male, Raptor female, Black hole female and Jungle snow female. Container #4 had a pair of Bell albinos.

I had only 2 of the hypo females lay eggs this year. And they where a month apart. So there was no way I mixed them up and if I did it wouldn't matter anyways.

I don't get a whole lot of eggs since I don't have a whole lot of breeders, so I have each clutch to its own container. The top of the container is marked with the parents names and morphs, as well as the date. I post when they lay on my blog and calender on the wall so I can keep track of when to expect the eggs to hatch.

I wish I had an explination for it, like having mixed up eggs but I dont see how its possible to have done so. lol would make it so much easier on me if that had happened. I would rather say "oops" any day over having to scratch my brain over this.

Another "outside the box" idea, is it possible he is a Super Snow from a Mack x Dominant Snow (TUG or GEM) cross? From what I have read those pairings can produce a SS, and if the two genes are on different loci then he could be a SS that is heterozygous for mack and heterozygous for the other snow strain, leaving the possibility of normal babies from a visual SS. Any snow breeders care to chime in on this idea?

I suppose anything like that is possible. I don't think the seller that I got him from had different snow strains. But with out him telling me he did or didn't I cant guarantee that. Never noticed him selling any on his site. I think he's got out of super snow patternless geckos cause I don't see any in his collection photo album. There's no telling with out talking to him.

Cept for Pacific Gecko doesnt own Blizzards. And this was one he hatched himself. He has/had raptors, shtct, emeralds, trempers and some mack snow combos
