and I decided to try some pics of Ursula in my light box with a black background.
I've taken pics of my geckos with a black background before, but Gid gave me some tips on how to darken the background.

This is my first go at it.

And some not-so-serious shots of her.

She was peeking out of her hide at me here. SO CUTE.

She has REALLY lightened up. I am not sure if it's the fact that I gut-load their roaches with old crested gecko diet and that has 3% superpig in it, and that's causing her to be more yellow, OR if laying eggs had anything to do with it?

This is Ursula before she laid eggs and before I started gut-loading her roaches with old CGD.

Look how dark she was!!! That's how dark she ALWAYS was.
She's nowhere near that dark now.
And she's 8 years old.

Great pics! Maybe you can show me how to take them next week.:) I would love to have all my website pics with a black background instead of white.

Thanks, ladies!

Kristi,
Sure!
I can show you how I have my lightbox set up.
It's really easy. I can even give you a piece of black poster board, if you'd like.:D

Thanks!:D Maybe I'll bring my camera again. That way if I have a question, you can help. I really need to sit down and read the book for it.

Very nice shots! I noticed one of my girl lightened up a bit when she has eggs too!

I would like to ask your permission. Can I edit some images here and post them right back. Would that be okay with you? I will also post the process that i have done.:)

Thanks, everyone!

Sure! But as today is a new day, I can ALREADY see the post processing mistakes I made.:main_laugh:
Whoo!
Oh my. I get the tired post processing eye quickly, and it causes me to miss some things that may be obvious to others who haven't been working on the same picture for an hour.:D

I'd love for you to have a go at my pictures.

And PLEASE let me know what you come up with.:D

Editing done:
-open image with CS3
-select burn tool and set opacity to 50%, then shadows.
-just brush on the background portion of the image to darken it, making it black
-click on curves, and click auto
-thats it.

Hope this helps.:)
