If I'm just traveling with one, I'll take a 10gal with all the trimmings..

BUT if I have more than one with me, I take plastic shoebox containers, 1-5gal heat mats (they're safe for plastic), disposable dishes, and toilet paper tubes. If I'm just going for a weekend, I don't bring food, just fill the dishes with water when I get there.

The geckos get put in tupperware/plastic sandwich containers/deli cups (whatever I have on hand) during travel.

Not sure if you want to take them just to be with your pet(which I understand), or more about feeding and care. If it's just worried about feeding they can go many days without food and be just fine if you are feeding mealworms you can just put a few extra in their tank and they will be fine for a weekend. Most people feed there adults every other day or some every second day. However IMO if you can avoid traveling with them it's best unless moving or selling them. They can become stressed and stop eating, drop their tails along with other stress related problems.

i agree with Jgreen909 said, its unneccessary stress to them, but its up to you. As he mentioned they can go without the food for a while.
But if you cant go without them for the weekend then thats understandable :) lol.

I know he's no gecko, but I used to take my tortoise back and forth with me from college on long breaks. I had a cage set up for him at home and one in my dorm and when I would head home I would pack him up and pack his lights up and head out. He never seemed too stressed about it, maybe a little mad since his dorm cage was much bigger than his cage at home :p
But for short weekend trips I generally left him at school.
