Tremper Incubation

I was reading Ron Trempers findings on the higher temperatures producing better colors. Though he said that Viet's paper found it in albinos. Has anyone had this experience in any other morphs. I want to produce some nice NOVAs and Dreamsicles, will it work for them too?

Yes it works for all morphs but especially for trempers. What you do is incubate for the sex for 3 weeks, so if you want females then at 80-82 around there. Then slowly get the temperature to a higher temperature like 88-90.

The thing is about trempers is that if you incubate low all the way through incubation time you end up with brown/chocolate trempers aka dookie tremper.

It would definitely work for Nova and Dreamsicles as they are both tremper morphs, combos of RAPTORs(tremper) and Enigmas with a Mack Snow thrown in for the Dreamsicle.

But! temperature can only do so much, genetics plays the biggest role so if you want awesome looking geckos then breed awesome geckos. :D

I incubate trempers as well as all the rest of my geckos on the low end at 81/82. Many though not all of the trempers hatch out dark, but after being in an enclosure with appropriate heat, most of them lighten up considerably after a few sheds.

I wonder how much, if any difference there would be in the end between a temp manipulated leo and one that just lightens up naturally. Any?

The other thing I've wondered about is how temp fluctuation can increase birth defects. Does this method increase the odds? Or does temp flux have to be up and down for a considerable period of time?

so if you want females you only have to incubate them at 80-82 for only 3weeks then you can raise the temps to 88-90?

I was just reading this older thread, and no one ever answered this question...I'd like to know also.

I <3 chocolate Trempers, especially when they exhibit a lot of nice pattern like the jungles. I know I know... now a days it's just the brighter the better, right? lol
