Tremper New Morphs?

I think he means abyssians aren't a new morph because they are related to eclipse. I'd say galaxy is a ss eclipse except it's not.

It's a particular line of SS eclipse known for its distinctive yellow paradox spots and "blue" head spots (extension of white eclipse nose up to forehead).

It is not a new morph, outside of the quirky "birthmarks".

I have geckos in my Bell x tang line crosses that produce extremely similar headspots, 3 in a "V" row on the back and four in a diamond on the nose. While I would like to see if I can reinforce these markings, because I think they're pretty; I think most of the community would squawk if I declared them "The Pleiades Morph" or "The Orion Morph" or "The Seven Stars Morph", even though I have kicked such goofy ideas around in my head.

But my geckos would still be the bold-influenced, het bells that they are...not a new morph. Just because someone says it is, does not make it a new genetic trait. There is no mention of proving out the Galaxy's method of inheritance (dominant, co-dominant, sex-linked, recessive?) or whether these are traits that can be isolated through line breeding, or what would happen if someone outcrossed to different genetics.

While I respect the creativity of the man who pretty much started leopard gecko breeding as we know it, I'm a little skeptical that everything he does is "a new morph". I think the Galaxies are very pretty, but I reserve judgement until more people have worked with them and let us know their breeding results.

As I didnt get to go to the japan show, I don't know. It's only a month away so hopefully these new genetics will prove to spice up the market. Id love to find out what makes the galaxy. The white face isn't a birthmark but the yellow spot is. All galaxy have white limbs and faces with red and green influenced spots. More likely an emerine blood hypo ss eclipse white sides. So could be a combo morph like raptor, radar, ember. We won't know until it's revealed. I'm more curious on the other three. There hasn't been any info released.

Okay, if you say so. :main_lipsrsealed:

"could be" is way different than "is". He hasn't told me his secret recipe so I can only speculate. Like any morph it needs to be proven, which is probably why he has spent so many years on this one. I'd love to see the breeder parents of his originals. So many mutations from one geneticist is amazing.

last I checked Ron wasn't a "geneticist". The so called "galaxy" is just a super snow eclipse with a paradox spot. until it is proven, it really can't be considered a new morph. there is a very long discussion about this on another thread here. but again, anyone can say they have developed a new morph. proving it out is the challenge.

I totally agree. I just ask that someone come forward with some pictures of a similar animal to show it is sse. And I don't mean white noses. I've seen enough of those. Lol. I want to see someone else with a sse that has a white face and white sides. White tail tip and white limbs. That's all.

Pretty sure thats the point of his announcing it. It has been proven. Do you really think he'd be making this much commotion just to be laughed at? Gotta give him a little more credit than that people geesh.

I look forward to seeing the results when you pony up for the "new morph" and test it out. His last "new morph", the Abyssinian, was the subject of similar speculation and doubt. I put down the cash to get one and test it out, proving that it was just an Eclipse, at best an Eclipse line that also tends toward hypomelanism. I also proved that the claims regarding its genetics and interaction with the Tremper Albino gene were 100% false. If I could prove that out in one season, don't you think he would have known that since he claims to have been test breeding for several years before they were released.?

Given the mess with Abyssinians, the previous Giant debacle, and even shady business at the dawn of the morph craze with the first albinos I think that skepticism towards a "new morph" that just so happens to look exactly like an existing morph is well deserved.
