I have heard that there are some issues with the fan drying out the eggs but have not had any personal experience.

Your eggs need to be in a air tight chamber so the air doesn't escpape and release the moisture. Even if you had them open it would dry out the eggs. You want the hovabator without the fan. THE FAN IS NO GOOD AND WILL ONLY HURT YOUR EGGS. The one without is cheaper so thats always good. I got mine for 39 dollars!
