very nice tort but I must say that aquariums are very bad for them and can be considered death trap for many unlucky torts the best things are large tubs or pens in which they can not see through or that there is only a small window above eye level

I agree with Layton, tanks aren't the best enclosure for tortoise. In order to get the equivallent tank size for a tort, you'd need at least a 75 or 100 gallon tank. A 50 gallon tote is much cheaper and easier to move, even when filled with enough substrate for digging and burrowing. Doesn't look like the tank you're using is nearly big enough for proper exercise. Hopefully you have an outdoor enclosure he spends most of his time in.
