Twiggy's daughter is born!!!

Given the fact that she's the only surviving egg from my thinnest, sickliest gecko whom I got at 27 grams and who immediately started laying six clutches of eggs (all fertile, but my incubation substrate did not work out right), it will be my most favorite baby ever :D

Thank you, Jennifer!!

She's also a mystery baby, since her mother had not been with a male at the breeder's I bought her from, and I didn't put that thin girl with a male, either. The only way mum Twiggy could have "contracted" it could have been when I put her in Nikita's cage for cleaning her quarantine tank... In this case, my avatar would be the father.

But -- Nikita is not a Bold Stripe??? Very strange ;)

I have a banded albino who produced 50% stripes (some like your hatchling) when paired with a stripe, and when paired with his SHTCT daughter produced a few jungles. What puzzles me is that from your pictures, both Twiggy and Nikita appear to be albino but the baby is not. Any ideas, or am I wrong (or are they different albino strains).

Hi Aliza,

I know it's strange, but the baby is definitely Twiggy's egg; I put Twiggy's name on it immediately, and she had her eggs in confinement and was not with any other female girl in a cage...

Apart from that, I don't have any normal geckos the egg could be from; just Rainwaters, Bells, Albinos, and Enigmas.

Yes, Twiggy is Albino (and so is Nikita, but I'm not sure if Nikita is the father...). Twiggy is not gravid any more after six clutches, so she must have used up all her stored sperm. Otherwise, I would have the opportunity to compare her hatchlings. If the father was a Normal, the baby could be a normal too, right?

By the way, Twiggy gained some weight and is a very happy gecko now! :)

Maybe the baby is a reverse-striped Albino, like her mother? I have no clue. It looks like Bold Stripe to me. If anybody knows, please tell me...

Is it possible she was mated before she got to the breeder? Either that or you have some interesting genetics going on in mum and dad.
