Hi together!
Unfortunately such things always happen when you're on holiday :main_no: :
On August 13th hatched a VERY small albino female from my group. She only had half the size of my other hatchlings. The person who cared about my geckos while my holidays recognized that the egg looked different. So he opened it-and found a dead twin sister inside! She looked anatomical correct, with all her toes, but she was already dark and putrid. It seems there was not enough space/food for both of them, so she died shortly before hatchling.
I got a phone call about that 2 days later, and unfortunately he had thrown away egg and sibling without taking pictures for me :main_no: :main_thumbsdown: .
I just wanted to take the chance to ask you if anybody has hatched twins, too, and can maybe give me some advice: The remaining sister is VERY small and did not eat for about a week, so I told my friend to let her in the incubator.
Now I returned home and try to feed her from hand- she is not really interesting in mooving objects right now. I wonder if she will make it, anyhow she is quick and looks attentive to me.
On the pics you can see her in compare to 2 normal albino hatchlings from the same pairing, which were born in august, too!!
So: Has anybody experiences with twins? Do they develop like normal single hatchlings, or did they need more time to grow? Has she a chance to develop into a normal leopard gecko, or will she be different for the rest of her life :main_huh: ?
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks, Rebecca
