Great plan Bruno, we are doing something similar, keeping one because of an injury and we don't think it should ever breed 
Some may argue that a cat can live just fine without a tail, but the tail serves a purpose. It is there for balance and maneuverability. The cats tail is one of the reasons they can almost always land on their feet.

Obviously, if this were a gene mutation, some might consider it unethical to breed.
