Unusual or not??? That is the question!

Hi all,

I hatched this leo recently and don't recall seeing one like it. The sides of it (mainly the left side) are void of any patterning with a pretty straight line between the patterned and nonpatterned areas. It is from my Tang/Emerine Enigma bred to a RAPTOR.

Any thoughts? Just the RAPTOR striping at work?

Thanks,
Glenn

+1 on Nigels comment. Nice little hatchling. There is a lot of variation with the PS genes

I remember something about this in a genetics class I took. A patterned animal can be devoid of pattern along its lateral line sometimes one side or the other, just as a genetic blip.
But who knows, yours may not have these strange genes.
Very cool, I hope to see some updates on it as it gets older!

That is really cool looking! I think Enigma crossed with Patternless Stripe genes does come crazy things with the pattern on the non-Enigma siblings.

That's pretty neat. If his pattern stays that way as it matures, and can be duplicated in offspring, you could have you're own morph! You could call it the Half-n-Half. :p Or better yet, the Gemini! Wooooo.

Well either way that's pretty spiffy. You'll have to keep us updated on his looks as he matures. :)

Very cute pattern. I had one this season hatch out that way, turned out to be an emerine. Mine looks exactly like yours, head and tail.. body a little different. Keep us updated!

I agree that the patternless genes can do some crazy things. Pretty cool looking though. I would like to see how that little thing grows up.

I bred an Emerine to a Raptor this season and got some of the most crazy patterns I have seen. The best project for cool and unique patterns by far (for me anyway :) )! That looks similar to the ones I have been hatching. Congrats
